Successfully completed business administration degree or equivalent education and training
Several years of professional experience as a Commercial Property Underwriter at an international insurance company, including experience in developing policy wordings and customized solutions
High degree of self-motivation, resilience (especially under stress and deadlines), assertiveness, and good self-organization
Willingness to cooperate in a team of underwriters and underwriting account technicians, including developing and training junior staff
Entrepreneurial thinking and ability to work in a profit- and cost-oriented manner
Convincing market presence and communication skills (including relationship building), as well as clear and precise expression
Tact and sensitivity in dialogue and interaction with customers and brokers
Good knowledge of English
Openness to innovations and ability to think 'outside the box', paired with a convincing can-do mentality
Willingness for regular travel (up to 25%)

Responsibilities

Assessment of company risks in the industrial customer sector (Commercial Property)
Individual premium calculation and creation of tailored offers for national and multinational companies, including negotiations with brokers and customers, and subsequent signing of national business and multinational insurance programs
Compliance with internal regulations, standards, authorities, and signing guidelines to achieve satisfactory ratings in all underwriting quality checks
Deal making: Structuring programs, identifying facultative reinsurance needs, and placing facultative reinsurance in accordance with internal guidelines
Marketing and signing of terror and political violence risks in collaboration with the AIG Terrorism/Political Violence Center of Excellence
Targeting and signing new business in close collaboration with brokers and client engagement
Development and introduction of tailored and innovative coverage and service concepts as a differentiator from competitors
Commissioning and participation in inspections, as well as evaluation of technical reports and risk analyses in close collaboration with the Risk Engineering department
Analysis of competitors' and brokers' policy wordings, including participation in their negotiation
Analysis of major losses in Commercial Property and coverage issues, and creation of resulting "lessons learned"
Use of underwriting tools, including regular exchange between Property department and actuarial
