Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering, along with 8+ years of transportation structural experience and a Licensed Professional Engineer designation. Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles, experience with AASHTO LRFD, AREMA, and DOT’s specifications and standards, and proficiency in structural analysis and design of conventional and complex bridges are required. Familiarity with midwest DOT’s (MDOT, ODOT, etc) and Local Agency bridge design packages and an NHI Bridge Inspection certification are desired.
The Senior Structural Bridge Engineer will lead and manage bridge design and analysis, prepare plans and specifications, conduct load ratings and bridge inspections, assess bridge conditions, and provide technical support for various bridge types and transportation structural engineering projects. They will also mentor staff, assist with proposal development, contribute to project reports and presentations, and maintain a safe working environment.
