Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with at least 5 years of experience in software engineering, particularly with a focus on front-end development. Strong proficiency in React or other JavaScript frameworks like Typescript and Node.js web services is required, as well as experience designing and implementing APIs. Familiarity with AWS and cloud tooling, including Kubernetes (EKS), AWS Lambda, and Docker, is also necessary.
The Senior Software Engineer, Video Frontend will contribute to Flock Safety’s custom-built Video Management Software by supporting integrations with various NVRs, VMS, and video-capable devices, including drones. They will focus on writing performant UI code and implementing optimizations to ensure smooth and responsive user experiences across different platforms and devices, working collaboratively with other engineering and product teams. Experience with VMS systems and video/streaming technologies such as WebRTC, HLS, RTSP, FFmpeg, and GStreamer is preferred.
