Requirements

Candidates should have 5+ years of full-time engineering experience in a large technology organization or fast-growing startup. Experience working with blockchain technology and DeFi is required, along with experience building backend services with Node.js and Typescript. Proficiency in building and maintaining high-volume production-quality applications using React or React Native, with a good understanding of state management and client-side systems design, is necessary. Experience with GraphQL, SQL, RESTful APIs, and WebSockets is also required, along with a good understanding of best practices for version control and continuous integration. A solid understanding of engineering and design principles behind distributed and scalable applications, as well as user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments, is essential. A clear passion for both Software Engineering and Crypto is expected.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with designers and product managers to understand business needs and work jointly with DevOps throughout the software development lifecycle, from writing technical specifications to feature development and testing. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining services that power onchain experiences, integrating 3rd party APIs and multiple blockchain networks into products, and designing and implementing low-latency, high-availability scalable applications. The role involves writing reusable, testable, and efficient code, creating optimized database schemas, and mentoring engineers. The engineer will take complete end-to-end ownership of tasks and contribute to shaping the future of Kraken's Onchain product strategy.
