Requirements

Candidates should possess 5+ years of industry full stack engineering experience in single and multi-tenanted environments, with in-depth knowledge of Javascript/TypeScript, Python, and FastAPI, or equivalent modern languages/frameworks. A strong understanding of relational and document-based databases, modern web architecture, and best practices including HTML, CSS, responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, browser networking, and browser APIs is required. Experience with unit and integration testing, distributed teams, Git version control, and diagnosing/preventing performance and optimization problems at scale is also necessary. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with TypeScript and React, Python, FastAPI, Starlette, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, 3rd-party integrations like Auth0 and Amplitude, early-stage startup environments, HIPAA-compliant environments (FHIR, HL7), and machine learning.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will develop large-scale progressive and single-page web applications to streamline user workflows and enhance efficiency. They will work on a modern Javascript (React/TypeScript) frontend application and develop Python/FastAPI backend services, including REST APIs and ML pipeline services. Responsibilities also include building new features for a growing customer base, writing secure, maintainable, and best-practice code for a high-scale HIPAA web environment, and collaborating with Product Management, UX, Customer Success, and other stakeholders to iterate on features and address defects. The engineer will also advocate for improvements in product quality, security, and performance.
