Requirements

Candidates should have demonstrated experience delivering at least 3 full-lifecycle Java/JVM-based projects, each spanning 3-6 months in duration, experience with CI/CD pipelines, and knowledge of Distributed and Concurrent Systems. Hands-on experience with Kafka, Kafka Streams or Apache Flink, experience with OLAP databases or data-lakes with Kafka ingestion is a plus, and a strong product mindset with a passion for user experience is required. Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisations, and designing and evolving schemas is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and enhancing payment fraud detection systems using machine learning, real-time transaction monitoring, and data analysis, collaborating with fraud investigators and the product team to continuously improve systems and provide support. They will also monitor and interpret changes in regulations, conduct audits, deliver training, advise management on HR-related risk mitigation strategies, and foster a strong partnership between fraud prevention specialists and product teams, ensuring compliance with regulators and auditors while exceeding expectations. The role also involves autonomous work on customer problems, taking end-to-end ownership, driving projects to achieve goals, and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
