Requirements

Candidates should possess 2 to 6 years of hands-on software engineering experience and a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience. Desired experience includes containerized deployments with Kubernetes, custom operators, modern Java-based microservices, Java build and release management, enterprise security, and a basic understanding of distributed systems design and development. Familiarity with systems engineering concepts and experience in remote-first, asynchronous work environments are also sought. Experience with data infrastructure like SQL databases, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or Apache Spark, and involvement in open-source communities are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to building an integrated Flink job management platform, focusing on the end-to-end lifecycle of Flink jobs from deployment to performant execution. This involves working on Kubernetes operators, Java-based microservices, and Apache Flink itself to ensure stable and secure operations. The role includes providing long-term support for Apache Flink, developing and operating a sophisticated build and verification pipeline, and enhancing Flink features or stability based on customer feedback and support insights. The engineer will also act as a final line of defense for internal support and field teams, building deep expertise in stream processing, distributed systems, and Apache Flink.
