Requirements

At least 5 years of industry experience as a software engineer
Knowledge in designing, developing, and deploying applications leveraging LLM models and systems, with a strong focus on Prompt Engineering, Fine Tuning, RAG implementation, and Agentic frameworks
Experience designing, building, and scaling full-stack applications, including backend systems, APIs, and frontend interfaces
Understanding of how to improve ML systems, creating eval sets, and driving quality hill-climbing
Comfortable operating up and down the stack: frontend, API, backend, and database
Experience working at rapidly scaling startups and large companies, especially with environments that prioritize a bias for action
Action-driven, willing to roll up sleeves and engage directly with users; strong opinions but prioritize building a platform that meets users where they are

Responsibilities

Team up with product engineering teams to design and implement AI-powered features to deliver customer value and integrate LLM models with existing products and systems
Work closely with other engineers at Vanta to understand their pain points in AI development and identify opportunities for improvements
Design, build, and improve AI infrastructure and tooling to unblock product strategy
Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation
Set an example for effective, collaborative engineering culture and help mentor junior team members
