Strong Kotlin experience
Experience developing camera and image-processing applications
Strong debugging skills and experience with debugging custom Android hardware
Experience with headless Android-embedded systems

Ability to read through a large existing codebase and adapt quickly
Experience building and shipping custom Android devices
Experience with other mobile application frameworks

Skilled in JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Gerrit, Git/GitHub

Responsibilities

Drive the stability and high-performance of the embedded LPR platform, focusing on headless custom Android applications
Master the full system architecture
Directly own the quality and low-level performance of fleet applications
Rapidly integrate critical features, including new versions of the nativeML library and performance-critical imaging solutions, in collaboration with ML and hardware teams
Familiarize with Engineering and Product Team members, hardware design, embedded software, cloud interface, build and deployment tools, fleet health, and project statuses (first 30 days)
Expand knowledge of the Picard platform (apps, drivers, OS) and get familiar with the Android camera stack (first 60 days)
Implement required code changes (first 90 days)
Define testing criteria, help develop tests, and work with QA to build out their test plans for new features (first 90 days)
Support the launch of features, including daily monitoring of deployed devices (first 90 days)
