Requirements

5-7 years of programming experience with 3+ years of recent experience in Node.js
Sound knowledge of Database basics such as joins, constraints, stored procedures, triggers, and schema design
Ability to take a problem and represent it in an Object-Oriented Design while calling out assumptions, discussing design alternatives, and considering non-functional requirements (e.g., Performance, Maintainability)
High level of ownership for the entire SDLC, including design, build, validation, deployment, and support of production systems
Experience optimizing software to run fast, be reliable, and fail safely (familiarity with O(n) analysis)
Experience designing features that require coordination of multiple threads using various communication/coordination mechanisms
Experience using threads, mutexes, semaphores, critical sections, or debugging sophisticated issues in a distributed environment
Knowledge of technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, NoSQL, Kafka, ElasticSearch, AWS, GCP, etc. (encouraged)

Responsibilities

Participate in all aspects of the SDLC, including design, development, code review, testing, bug fixing, and code/API documentation
Build new features using development technologies to delight and inspire marketers, IT professionals, and other knowledge workers
Build engineering designs that address sophisticated problems and perform at mass scale for thousands of concurrent users
Debate efficient design and ideal user experience for unrealized features identified by Product teams or propose own ideas
Lead technical discussions about emerging tools, technologies, and processes impacting products and SaaS platform
Provide opinions on the creation and modification of technology roadmaps
Guide a small to medium-sized team by identifying dependencies and risks, acting as a planning consultant to project managers, recommending improvements to engineering practices, and helping specialists solve problems
