Requirements

  • Full Machine / Vehicle performance and controls simulation experience
  • Experience with multibody simulation tools
  • Strong vehicle dynamics understanding/experience
  • Machine/Vehicle level performance, controls, integration or validation experience
  • Strong system engineering knowledge (Engine, Powertrain, Hydraulics, etc.)
  • Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes
  • Prior experience leading cross-functional teams in matrix organization
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Developing Machine Simulation models and Digital Twins to estimate truck performance, cost per ton, machine dynamics, support control systems development, predict structural loads, and perform virtual regulatory and ISO tests
  • Guiding the development and optimization of functional interactions between various sub-systems to ensure machine safety, performance, reliability, and durability targets are met
  • Interfacing with product-specific performance engineer, controls engineer, powertrain and hydraulic system leads, and L4 system teams (e.g., large structures, light structures, engine installation) to understand and support needs
  • Performing hands-on machine tuning at proving grounds and customer sites
  • Working closely with data analytics teams to collect and analyze data for machine performance, controls development, and validation
  • Resolving critical CPI (Continuous Product Improvement) issues
  • Developing simulation and validation procedures
  • Improving simulation and analysis capabilities to enable Single Phase NPI (New Product Introduction) deployment
  • Responsible for machine performance and controls modelling and simulations for one or more machine platforms and programs
  • Supporting the development of detailed technical requirements for NPI programs based on customer needs and requirements
  • Developing full machine simulation models to predict performance, loads, and durability of various systems and components
  • Ensuring technical requirements are satisfied by coordinating and executing machine system and subsystem analysis and test programs that yield pass/fail results
  • Coordinating full machine VPD and Validation activities
  • Participating in FMEA and Validation workshops
  • Supporting New Technology Introduction (NTI) programs that impact short- and long-term strategies
  • Coordinating resolution of performance and controls development and production issues
