Requirements

  • Expertise in Innovative Medicine and solid tumor oncology
  • Ability to lead and manage teams including Medical Directors, Medical Education, Medical Communication, and Field teams
  • Knowledge of medical strategies, IEGP (Integrated Evidence Generation Plan), medical education, and MSL field execution
  • Experience in compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations
  • Strategic planning skills for early assets and therapeutic areas
  • Talent management and development capabilities to build diverse, high-performing teams
  • Ability to represent the company as a clinical/scientific expert with key stakeholders
  • Membership and contribution to senior leadership teams (e.g., MALT, GMAT)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the team responsible for developing and executing medical strategies for Oncology assets, including IEGP, medical education, and MSL field plans to ensure safe and effective product use
  • Lead the medical sciences vision and strategy for Solid Tumor Oncology, positioning Medical Affairs as a core pillar
  • Serve as a member of the MALT to set strategic vision, enhance connectivity, share best practices, and facilitate partnerships with regional, global, and organizational teams
  • Lead development and delivery of the Medical Affairs strategic plan for early assets and all assets in the therapeutic area, ensuring alignment with patient needs, business priorities, and resourcing
  • Attract, develop, and manage talent to build a responsive, proactive, diverse, high-performing medical organization and broader talent pipeline
  • Ensure compliance of all individuals, strategies, and processes with relevant guidelines and regulations
  • Guide development and implementation of IEGP by Medical Directors, including medical assessment and approval of local clinical study protocols, and prepare for innovation readiness from site initiation to regulatory approval
  • Represent Canada in Global Medical Affairs forums, shape and influence global strategies to reflect Canadian market needs
  • Represent the company as a key clinical/scientific expert with leading medical experts, professional associations, and institutions
