Requirements
- Leadership experience in Medical Affairs, particularly in Hematology
- Expertise in developing and executing medical strategies, including IEGP, medical education, and MSL field plans
- Ability to lead teams (Medical Directors, Medical Education, Medical Communication, Field teams)
- Knowledge of compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations
- Experience guiding clinical study protocols, evidence generation plans, and market preparation
- Strong strategic vision for therapeutic areas and early assets
- Capability to represent the company at global forums and with key medical experts, associations, and institutions
- Talent management skills for attracting, developing, and building diverse high-performing teams
- Membership-level experience in senior medical leadership teams (e.g., MALT, GMAT)
Responsibilities
- Oversee team development of medical strategies for Hematology assets and execute from head office and field, including IEGP, medical education, and MSL plans
- Lead medical sciences vision and strategy for Hematology, positioning Medical Affairs as a core pillar
- Serve as member of MALT to set strategic vision, enhance connectivity, and facilitate partnerships regionally and globally
- Lead development and delivery of MA strategic plans for early and all assets in the therapeutic area, ensuring alignment with patient needs and business priorities
- Attract, develop, and manage talent to build a diverse, high-performing medical organization and global talent pipeline
- Ensure compliance of all individuals, strategies, and processes with guidelines and regulations
- Guide development and implementation of IEGPs, including local approval of clinical study protocols
- Represent Canada in Global Medical Affairs forums, influencing strategies to reflect Canadian market needs
- Act as key clinical/scientific expert with leading medical experts, professional associations, institutions, and commercial teams
