Requirements

Demonstrate achievement of performing R&D for a ceramic currently used in a commercial product or integral to a large, single-unit project (e.g., a large engine or turbine project)
8+ years of materials-related industry experience, including experience delivering projects cradle-to-grave (including design reviews) for a commercial product
Experience leading and planning R&D efforts guided by a milestone schedule
Hands-on experience with material testing and characterization
Experience with radiation effects testing and characterization
Bias for action, ability to execute with urgency, and knowledge of rapid prototyping
Experience working with internal Helion teams, external vendors, national laboratories, and universities
Ability to balance risks and deliver projects in an environment with changing requirements
Network and represent Helion at technical meetings and conferences

Responsibilities

Lead high-impact and multi-disciplinary projects to develop new ceramics materials
Contribute to the delivery of Helion's inorganic materials needs
Take ownership of ceramics at Helion
Operate in an environment with obstacles and changing requirements
Partner with other internal Helion teams, external vendors, national laboratories, and universities
Develop your network and represent Helion at technical meetings and conferences
Deliver projects cradle-to-grave (including design reviews) for a commercial product
Balance risks and deliver projects in an environment with changing requirements
Participate in technical meetings and conferences as a representative of Helion
