Requirements

Candidates should possess 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years dedicated to API development and management, along with 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams and a proven mentoring record. They must have expertise in RESTful APIs, security, versioning, and best practices, and demonstrate experience in scalable architecture and cloud-based systems. Furthermore, candidates must have strong Agile experience and stakeholder communication skills, and be eligible to work in Bulgaria long-term.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, Public APIs, the individual will lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for building and maintaining Smartsheet’s public APIs, defining and driving API strategy aligned with customer needs and business goals, architecting and designing scalable, secure, and high-performance API services, fostering collaboration across engineering teams to improve integration experiences, developing best practices for API development, owning the API lifecycle, mentoring engineers, building a cohesive team, reporting progress to senior leadership, and managing on-call rotations for critical API services. They will also understand API infrastructure and team projects, meet stakeholders, optimize team performance, introduce best practices, deliver high-impact API features, and position Smartsheet as a leader in the API ecosystem.
