Requirements

  • A J.D. Degree from an accredited university
  • Deep knowledge of claims adjudication of professional liability claims

Responsibilities

  • Adjudicate highly complex professional lines claims with limited oversight under broad management direction, at the highest authority limits, reflecting the highest degree of technical complexity, potentially with major impact on departmental results, arising from underwriting policies written by ArgoRe out of Bermuda and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
  • Conduct detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to find solutions to numerous and undefined issues
  • Report to senior management and underwriters on claims trends and developments
  • Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly, including interviewing all involved parties
  • Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions, and other records to determine whether the loss falls within policy coverage
  • Manage claims in litigation
  • Manage diary with timely and complete tasks to ensure cases move to the best financial outcome and timely resolution
  • Properly set claim reserves, taking into account how different policy wordings impact the claims reserving process
  • Identify, assign, and coordinate expertise resources to assist in case resolution
  • Prepare reports for file documentation
  • Apply creative solutions resulting in the best financial outcome
  • Negotiate highly complex settlement packages, set reserves, and authorize payments within scope of authority, settling claims in the most cost-effective manner and ensuring timely issuance of disbursements
  • Process mail and prioritize workload
  • Complete telephone calls and written correspondence to/from various parties (insured, claimant, etc.)
