As a Senior Infrastructure Linux Engineer, you will be a key member of the core Infrastructure team at Arrowstreet, responsible for designing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining the managed core systems and platforms. You will contribute to the evolution from product management to service management, driving the execution of disciplined and standardized processes and tools to address mission-critical capability gaps and opportunities for maximized efficiency. This role is focused on accelerating the DevOps practice within the Infrastructure Systems team and supporting internal clients. You will work with security, compliance, and developers to align design with regulatory requirements and ensure high availability, scalability, and security of internal platforms.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with UNIX based enterprise solutions.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Python.
  • Knowledge of automation deployment, scaling, and maintenance of infrastructure resources.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Docker, and Kubernetes is desirable.
  • Understanding of security best practices in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., secrets management, compliance checks).
  • Experience with observability, performance, monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., ELK, Grafana).
  • Knowledge of compliance with internal policies and industry regulations (e.g., SOC1).

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 3 support to resolve escalated issues and assist in root cause discovery of production impacting events.
  • Maintain support and operational efficiencies for Arrowstreet’s UNIX based enterprise solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal infrastructure solutions (on-premise and cloud-based).
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, Python or similar.
  • Automate deployment, scaling, and maintenance of infrastructure resources.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of internal platforms.
  • Optimize build and deployment workflows to improve developer productivity.
  • Optimize infrastructure performance for latency-sensitive applications, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Implement security best practices in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., secrets management, compliance checks).
  • Implement observability, performance, monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like ELK, Grafana, and etc.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations (e.g., SOC1).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve build, deployment, and integration issues.
  • Assist in-house development teams with application/platform integration such as authorization / permissions, service configuration, network, and performance related inquiries (name resolution, firewall port flows, and load balancing).
  • Identify virtual and physical infrastructure issues which impact the functionality of the application and hosting platform.
  • Support internal teams in deploying and maintaining financial applications with high reliability.
  • Serve as a technical representative for team managed services (e.g., Data Protection / Recovery, Identity services).
