Requirements

  • Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • 12+ years experience in optical transport or fiber access equipment development or high-speed circuit pack development
  • Experience with 1RU-14RU carrier-grade system requirements and high-speed optical and access fiber transmission systems
  • Experience with board level development and being a lead designer for development projects
  • Experience and understanding of design for testability and manufacturability concepts
  • Experience in developing environmentally hardened optical transport and access systems
  • Experience with a variety of optical interfaces and telecommunications standards up to 400G and beyond (asset)

Responsibilities

  • Lead HW development projects and advise and mentor other HW team members
  • Own all aspects of circuit pack development schedule, prototype delivery, product testing and product certification
  • Work with product line management and other managers to interpret and negotiate product features and specifications
  • Lead and interface with contract resources outside of your organization
  • Define technical specifications to support design concepts, and participate in specification peer reviews
  • Participate in design reviews, guide technical discussions to conclusion
  • Interface with component vendors and negotiate design specifications with external suppliers
  • Review Designs to ensure they meet architecture goals
  • Support the technology transfer to manufacturing/production testing
