Requirements

7+ years of professional software development experience
5+ years of hands-on experience with Java (17+) and SpringBoot (2.5+)
3+ years of hands-on experience with React
Proven experience with Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), and Google Cloud services
Experience with MongoDB (preferred)
Solid understanding of building and consuming REST APIs and microservices architecture
Proficient understanding of build and source control tools (e.g., Git)
Experience working within Agile/Scrum development methodologies
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
Passion for mentoring and team leadership
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high proficiency in English
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Must live in Guadalajara or León (remote position)

Responsibilities

Collaborate as a key member of the scrum team to translate requirements into scalable, reliable cloud-based applications
Design, write, test, document, and deploy robust code using React, Java, and SpringBoot
Build reusable code, libraries, and backend APIs, optimizing for speed and scalability
Design and implement data storage solutions using SQL and MongoDB
Leverage expertise in Docker, Google Cloud, and Kubernetes (GKE) for containerization and cloud infrastructure management
Support and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CircleCI)
Participate actively in design and architecture discussions and agile sprint team ceremonies, understanding microservices principles
Contribute to the product vision and explore/propose new technologies
Coach, mentor, and provide local support to future Metafora engineers as a foundational member of the Mexico team
