Requirements

Candidates should have 8+ years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience, or 7+ years and a Master's degree. A minimum of 8 years of previous development experience on Linux is required, along with experience developing native user mode applications. Expert proficiency in C programming, Shell, and Python scripting is necessary, and familiarity with LTE/5G technologies is preferred. Bonus qualifications include experience with the Linux kernel, controlling hardware from the kernel, and knowledge of Yocto or other embedded Linux build frameworks.

Responsibilities

The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will architect, develop, debug, optimize, review, and test software for Linux-embedded platforms. They will leverage multiple open-source projects to expand Linux systems capabilities, develop new features, and maintain existing ones for custom-embedded Linux boards. The role includes building custom Linux distributions based on manufacturer’s Board Support Packages and contributing to all phases of the software development cycle including prototyping, requirements capture, design, implementation, and validation.
