Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology with 5 yrs experience or 10 yrs experience in lieu of degree
- 5-10 years' minimum relevant experience in refining and petrochemical industry, LNG Project, preferably with EPC experience
- Experience in large scale Petrochemical, LNG onshore project
- Experience with Tekla Structures, S3D, & Navisworks
- Experience with automated drawing generation with model-based QA/QC workflows
- Travel – 20% expected
- Self directs work with limited supervision
- In office 5 days a week
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of detailed 3D structural model and drawings using Tekla Structures and S3D
- Assist or review the cost estimates and quantity take-offs for on-going projects, proposals, forecasts, and change-orders
- Provide technical guidance to contractors/vendors and generate sketches as needed
- Generate and check fabrication level drawings, general arrangements, and material take-offs
- Review the submittal from EPC contractors & internal engineering team for Piling, Foundations, Module & Stick Built Steel Pipe Racks/Structures, and provide technical guidance & constructability review comment
- Review, monitor and ensure compliance requirements are met for the design (e.g. Standards, specification, model, and local codes and regulations etc.)
- Regularly perform reviews of vendor documents to ensure specifications and data sheet requirements are met
- Consider multiple solutions and make good decisions based on good data analysis
- Manage several different assignments simultaneously
- Help develop and enforce modeling and drawing standards
- Mentor Jr Designers
- Ownership of structural design packages and modeling strategies, ensure accuracy, constructability and efficiency of design deliverables
- Responsible for mentoring Jr. designers, ensuring quality deliverables and driving digital innovation in modeling and drawing automation
