Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration with significant exposure to Oracle database environments
- Proficient in Oracle database installation, configuration, and administration
- Strong performance tuning and optimization expertise
- In-depth knowledge of backup and recovery procedures using RMAN
- Familiarity with database security best practices
- Experience with monitoring tools and performance metrics
- Understanding of high availability solutions, such as Oracle RAC
- Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills are essential
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration
- Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining data integrity
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems, particularly Oracle databases
- Monitor and tune database performance to ensure high availability and optimized operations
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data
- Implement security measures to safeguard databases against unauthorized access and threats
- Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database-driven applications
- Conduct regular database audits and troubleshooting to resolve performance and integrity issues
- Stay updated on database technologies and best practices, suggesting improvements for processes
- Document configuration, procedures, and policies related to database management
