Candidates must possess an MS degree plus 5 years of experience or a PhD degree plus 2 years of experience in Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, with demonstrated work experience in relevant fields. They should have hands-on experience designing and deploying novel control algorithms for aerospace or ground vehicles, along with experience utilizing system identification, Kalman filters, and linear/nonlinear controllers. Furthermore, candidates are expected to have 3+ years of professional experience in software development using C, C++, and Matlab/Simulink, and familiarity with actuators and sensors for low-Earth orbit satellite applications, as well as knowledge of spacecraft dynamics and orbital mechanics, and experience with Git and Linux.
As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing control algorithms and software for E-Space satellites, maintaining and enhancing the E-Space Satellite Simulator with data and critical analysis, and interfacing with software engineers to integrate controls and estimation software into flight software. You will also own all aspects of controls software development, including autocoding, testing, hardware-in-the-loop simulations, mission integration, and operation, while designing, improving, and following rigorous software configuration management and code development processes. Furthermore, you will interact cross-functionally with other subsystem engineers, providing expertise as needed, participate in design reviews, and prepare documentation, and contribute to autonomy software for space/aerial/ground applications.
