Requirements
Candidates are required to have at least 5 years of real-world software engineering experience, proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as TypeScript, Python, C++, Go, or Java, and experience with data pipelines, databases, and cloud platforms like Mongo, Snowflake, and AWS. Familiarity with monitoring tools like Datadog and Sentry, along with CI/CD practices, is also desired. Experience designing and implementing fault-tolerant distributed systems, knowledge of job orchestration frameworks, and experience with modern ETL/ELT processes are considered pluses. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
Responsibilities
The Senior Backend Software Engineer will build backend systems in a modern monorepo, working hands-on in a TypeScript + Node.js codebase to design and develop backend services for APIs, job schedulers, and index calculation engines. They will redesign and scale the job orchestration framework, overhaul the Node-based jobs infrastructure, maintain and evolve the data pipeline, including Fivetran, DBT, and Snowflake, collaborate directly with leadership to scope and prioritize improvements, and drive reliability and operational excellence through on-call rotations and observability practices. Furthermore, they will contribute to engineering culture by participating in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning.
