Requirements

Candidates must have significant professional experience as a Backend Engineer, including building, shipping, and maintaining complex software projects using Elixir. Experience with Postgres (or similar) and CI/CD tools like GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins is also required. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

The Senior Backend Engineer will lead the development of major team-scoped projects and participate in cross-team initiatives. They will actively contribute to product work by providing feedback, suggesting solutions, and proposing product improvements based on technical insights. Responsibilities include maintaining a deep understanding of the team's domain, providing feedback on code reviews, contributing to the shared codebase, debugging and solving technical and business issues, and participating in non-team activities like support rotations and hiring. Additionally, they will mentor other engineers, investigate and implement platform improvements, and design and implement APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
