Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years of industry experience in backend development, with at least 3-4 years in senior positions, specifically developing large-scale applications and distributed web applications. Experience with Ruby/Ruby on Rails, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch is required, as well as familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, and Terraform. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, a creative problem solver, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity and owning projects from start to finish.
The Senior Backend Engineer will design and implement highly scalable backend endpoints, gather product requirements, and write design documents. They will drive the full lifecycle of software development, including architecture, solution design, development, quality assurance, and maintenance. This role involves mentoring other engineers on best practices, effectively sharing knowledge, and communicating development progress to stakeholders. The engineer will also be responsible for introducing new technologies, working effectively within a global team, and providing constructive feedback to colleagues.
