Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing, Industrial Design or related field (or suitable combination of education, experience, and training)
  • Minimum of 3 years directly applicable work experience
  • Proven project management experience, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a product development setting
  • Self-starter, quick learner, clear communicator, team player with strong leadership skills
  • Aptitude to gain knowledge of consumer’s footwear needs and solve relevant, impactful problems
  • High profile communication and influencing skills, including ability to interact with leadership and cross-functional product creation team members
  • Knowledge of footwear manufacturing technologies, equipment, tooling, and materials (highly preferred)
  • Understanding of product planning, forecasting, and process planning with strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with key functional partners (Footwear Engineering, Testing, Material Design/Development, Product Design, Management, Merchandising, Sourcing/Operations, overseas partners) throughout the Product Development process
  • Report to the Footwear Product Development Director and navigate the Nike matrix to ensure processes match Nike Footwear Development standard methodologies
  • Serve as key point of contact for overseas partners, ensuring clear and accurate communication during product development
  • Drive product and process excellence within a team environment for assigned projects
  • Work on highly complex footwear projects, converting project brief and design rendering into a sample meeting consumer and business needs
  • Engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects meet critical dates, design intent, performance goals, costing/profitability, and sustainability targets
  • Ensure projects are ready for commercialization and can be manufactured
  • Recommend and specify materials, components, and construction to meet key features and performance goals
  • Apply understanding of sophisticated innovation concepts to in-line product process
  • Apply expert-level footwear technical knowledge to drive teams through 3D Prototyping, Bottom Tooling, Upper Patterns, Mold Design, Chemical, Materials, Costing, and Manufacturing to achieve project objectives efficiently and timely
  • Convert project brief and 2D design rendering into 3D sample meeting consumer and business needs
  • Utilize knowledge and experience to enhance product excellence
