Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a CPA and/or Master's degree or equivalent training is a plus
Experience in the Financial Services Industry (3 to 4+ years) preferred
Understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, practices, and internal controls
Ability to quickly understand and connect key concepts and dependencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of financial systems and dynamic reporting tools (i.e., Oracle) and highly proficient in Excel

Responsibilities

Support the systems implementation of FILI’s general account investment portfolio to a 3rd party vendor software used by the Company
Responsible for monthly and quarterly financial close including investment and other journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis
Prepare schedules supporting quarterly and annual regulatory filings and financial statement reporting for investments and other schedules as needed
Review the investment portfolio for compliance with internal investment policies and regulatory filing requirements (U.S. and Bermuda) including applicable GAAP and statutory accounting principles (including Asset Valuation Reserve and Interest Maintenance Reserve, and Risk Based Capital)
Support the audit process with external auditors
Maintain financial controls and understanding of accounting and financial processes
