Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA designation highly preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the apparel or consumer goods industry
  • Deductions and recoupment with big box retailers highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial processes
  • Proficiency with NetSuite and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, problem-solving individual who can manage a varied workload with constantly changing priorities
  • Availability for onsite work four days a week

Responsibilities

  • As part of the monthly accounting close, prepare journal entries, reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, fixed assets, prepaids, and lease accounting (ASC 842); analyze results and prepare general ledger reconciliation schedules
  • Monitor daily chargeback operations, including investigating deductions related to shortages, damages, non-compliance, etc.; leverage problem-solving and analytical thinking to meet department goals and deadlines; ensure appropriate credits are issued and chargeback deductions are reconciled to meet contractual obligations
  • Help maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and tax regulations
  • Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments
  • Participate in financial audits; complete requested materials and assist in preparing assigned schedules and gathering requested support
  • Perform data entry and general administrative tasks in support of the accounting team
