Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA designation highly preferred
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the apparel or consumer goods industry
Deductions and recoupment with big box retailers highly desirable
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial processes
Proficiency with NetSuite and Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proactive, problem-solving individual who can manage a varied workload with constantly changing priorities
Availability for onsite work four days a week

Responsibilities

As part of the monthly accounting close, prepare journal entries, reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, fixed assets, prepaids, and lease accounting (ASC 842); analyze results and prepare general ledger reconciliation schedules
Monitor daily chargeback operations, including investigating deductions related to shortages, damages, non-compliance, etc.; leverage problem-solving and analytical thinking to meet department goals and deadlines; ensure appropriate credits are issued and chargeback deductions are reconciled to meet contractual obligations
Help maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and tax regulations
Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments
Participate in financial audits; complete requested materials and assist in preparing assigned schedules and gathering requested support
Perform data entry and general administrative tasks in support of the accounting team
