Requirements

  • PhD in Computational Biology or a related computational field, with 1-2 years of relevant industry or postdoctoral experience
  • Alternatively, an M.S. in Computer Science or Bioinformatics, coupled with 3+ years of experience in a related field
  • Experience in developing customer-facing products and tools
  • Strong background in designing targeted assays, or transferable expertise in genomics data analysis
  • Proficiency with biological databases such as NCBI, COSMIC, IMG, UCSC, among others
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Pharmacogenomics, and Multi-Omics Data Analysis
  • Proven track record as a technical lead on projects, with the ability to translate project requirements into actionable results
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary, geographically dispersed team environment

Responsibilities

  • Translate internal/external customer needs for software product requirements and build tools for automating routine tasks
  • Represent bioinformatics team in internal projects and collaborate with colleagues from diverse functions
  • Support custom assay design requests in a time-bound manner
  • Provide technical guidance on customer calls and communicate with non-technical team members to help support customer requests
  • Provide bioinformatics trainings to other colleagues and present regularly in team meetings
