Requirements

  • Follow up on certification, training, medical screening etc. expiration dates of project employees and schedule/advise in advance accordingly
  • Ability to conduct air sampling, monitoring, data logging, calibrating instruments and basic IH tasks
  • Knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment processes
  • Ability to develop and review project Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) and Activity Hazard Analysis (AHAs)
  • Proficiency in entering data into Safety Mojo (Safety Observations, inspections, training data, project specific information and incident reports)
  • Capability to identify Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needs, order and issue PPE, and maintain supplies
  • Ability to identify third party training needs

Responsibilities

  • Drive a safety culture which promotes Incident and Injury Free Performance
  • Provide day-to-day Safety and Health support that is effective and suitable to achieve Forgen objectives
  • Provide regular, reliable data for monitoring Safety and Health performance
  • Help create, improve, and comply with project Health and Safety Plan (HASP)
  • Ensure Forgen Safety and Health requirements are widely and consistently understood and implemented
  • Apply hazard identification and risk assessment processes at project sites and ensure implementation of appropriate control measures to reduce risks to As Low As Reasonable Practical (ALARP)
  • Participate in the development and review process of Activity Hazard Analysis (AHAs)
  • Promote Safety and Health awareness through conducting new hire orientation, safety training and participating in Incident and Injury Free (IIF) campaigns
  • Conduct effective investigation of incidents and near misses, develop final reports and follow up corrective actions
  • Participate fully and openly in all compliance assurance audits, inspections and project meetings
  • Serve as a liaison between Forgen and client representatives
  • Perform and document inspections (e.g., fire extinguisher, portable ladder, body harness)
  • Conduct weekly site walk throughs and provide updates
  • Review project schedules on a weekly basis and communicate with the direct line of reporting about conditions and safety and health concerns
  • Perform air sampling, monitoring, data logging, calibrating instruments and basic IH tasks
  • Conduct, coordinate site safety inspections/audits, on-the-job trainings, and facilitate incident investigations
  • Supervise and support Safety and Health Supervisors/Technicians on their projects
  • Communicate information, lead, coach, and train all levels of employees in safety and health compliance, policies, and best practices
  • Complete/review permits and execute related duties as required by the environment and contract
  • Develop consistent best practices and policies
  • Attend on-site safety meetings with Forgen project management team
