Candidates should possess 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably with strong backend development expertise in languages such as Go, Rust, Java, or Erlang. They should have hands-on experience with basic cryptographic primitives, including digital signatures, key exchange, and encryption, as well as a foundational understanding of distributed systems and consensus algorithms. Furthermore, familiarity with blockchain systems and a willingness to learn about existing blockchain internals are valued.
The Rust Engineer will be responsible for development activities including proposing architectural decisions, participating in designs, conducting design reviews, performing code reviews, and implementing solutions. They will identify and address complex problems within the blockchain protocol, collaborate with operations and infrastructure to build scalable backend services, manage documentation of implemented code and functionalities, and work closely with DevOps and ecosystem engineers to improve the tech stack. Additionally, they will be involved in monitoring and interpreting changes in employment legislation across North America and developing HR policies to ensure compliance.
