Requirements

  • Competency in RO system, setting-up, and operating the dialysis machine
  • Competency in operating dialysis machine for double lumen or CVC patient
  • Ability to perform venipuncture AVF, AVG to initiate dialysis under supervision
  • Willingness to evaluate own practice and keep abreast of current knowledge
  • Attendance at company’s education courses or conference once a year
  • Attendance at Thai Nephrology Nurses Society meeting or conference annually
  • Exchange knowledge and skill sharing with team once a year (e.g., journal or interesting case presentation)

Responsibilities

  • Provide standard nursing care to dialysis patients pre, post, and throughout treatment under supervision of Renal Nurse Specialist
  • Assist Physician during patient rounds, examinations, or procedures
  • Deliver nursing care as per physician’s treatment orders under supervision
  • Document patient condition, treatment, and progression completely
  • Review, evaluate, and report laboratory results
  • Assess patient’s condition and body weight, document in hemodialysis sheet with treatment plan
  • Assess patient’s condition and body weight post-treatment for safety before discharge
  • Educate and evaluate patient and family knowledge of kidney disease, treatment modalities, and plan
  • Prepare dialysis machine and medical supplies for the next day
  • Perform other professional nursing activities as approved by Head Nurse
  • Provide nursing care and service with patient safety standards
  • Document nursing records completely as professional standard
  • Check and prepare readiness of emergency cart and treatment cart completely
  • Check medical supply and stock
  • Record incidents and customer feedback, report to head nurse
  • Participate in unit quality activities and initiate CQI projects for safety culture
  • Prepare medication as per treatment plan
  • Administer medication to dialysis patients as per safety standards
  • Document medication administration correctly and completely
  • Review medication and blood values with patients every 1 month
  • Review completeness of standard medication orders in medical records and encourage staff compliance
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure rapid response to patient problems and feedback
  • Provide service to patients and families with quality care and excellent service behavior
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary team
  • Comply with accepted dress code and maintain professional image
  • Avail self of continuing education programs
