Requirements

  • Competency in RO system, setting-up, and operating the dialysis machine
  • Competency in operating dialysis machine for double lumen or CVC patient
  • Ability to perform venipuncture AVF, AVG to initiate dialysis under supervision
  • Ability to assess patient’s condition and body weight pre- and post-treatment
  • Knowledge of kidney disease, treatment modalities, and treatment plans for patient/family education
  • Ability to prepare dialysis machine and medical supplies
  • Ability to prepare and check emergency cart, treatment cart, and medical supplies/stock
  • Ability to prepare and administer medication per treatment plan and safety standards
  • Ability to review laboratory results, medication, and blood values
  • Effective communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary team
  • Compliance with dress code and maintenance of professional image
  • Willingness to evaluate own practice, keep abreast of current knowledge/literature
  • Attendance at company education courses/conferences once a year, Thai Nephrology Nurses Society meeting/conference annually
  • Participation in knowledge/skill sharing (e.g., journal or case presentation) once a year

Responsibilities

  • Provide standard nursing care to dialysis patients pre-, during, and post-treatment under supervision of Renal Nurse Specialist
  • Assist Physician during patient rounds, examinations, or procedures
  • Deliver nursing care per physician’s treatment orders under supervision
  • Document patient condition, treatment, progression, laboratory results, hemodialysis sheet completely
  • Assess patient’s condition, body weight, and develop appropriate treatment plan
  • Perform venipuncture AVF, AVG to initiate dialysis under supervision
  • Assess patient post-treatment for safety before discharge
  • Educate and evaluate patient/family on kidney disease, treatments, and plans
  • Prepare dialysis machine and supplies for next day
  • Perform other approved professional nursing activities
  • Provide nursing care/service with patient safety standards
  • Check and prepare emergency cart, treatment cart, medical supplies/stock
  • Record incidents, customer feedback, and report to head nurse
  • Participate in/initiate unit quality activities, CQI projects for safety culture
  • Prepare/administer medication per treatment plan and safety standards; document correctly
  • Review medication/blood values with patients monthly; ensure complete medication orders in records
  • Communicate effectively with patients/families for rapid response to problems/feedback
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team; provide quality service/coordination
  • Provide excellent service/instruction to patients with professional behavior
