Registered Nurse (RN) license
Ability to work PRN (as needed) with rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays
Passion for patient-focused care in behavioral health, particularly with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and suicidal behavior
Enjoys working with adult population in an active, challenging environment requiring critical thinking
Values autonomous professional nursing practice
Motivation to deliver high-quality patient care in a team environment
Ability to maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership
Ability to adhere to infection-control policies, medication administration/storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organization standards, policies, and legal regulations

Responsibilities

Develop nursing diagnosis; establish nursing care objectives; define nursing interventions; provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends
Review physician prescriptions; communicate nursing care plan and pertinent information to healthcare team; coordinate with other providers
Obtain medical histories; examine patients; document physical condition, psychological status, and social factors; confer with family/friends; develop nursing diagnosis, objectives, interventions, schedules, and timetables
Establish patient care goals; instruct patients, families, and friends on condition, medications, self-care skills; answer questions; provide information/resources
Adhere to therapeutic standards; measure health outcomes; review patient records; note changing conditions/needs; re-evaluate and modify care plans
Maintain safe, secure, healthy patient care environment by following infection-control, medication, and regulatory protocols; alert others to concerns
Document patient care services in patient and department records
Maintain patient care equipment by following instructions, troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and arranging repairs
Manage patient care supplies by checking stock, anticipating needs, ordering, verifying receipt, and stocking items
