Requirements

  • 3 months of industrial maintenance, ammonia refrigeration maintenance, or trade school experience (or completion of industrial maintenance or ammonia refrigeration maintenance certification through a technical school in lieu of experience)
  • Proficiency in reading and writing
  • Ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels
  • Willingness to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out daily documentation
  • Willingness to use math for work-related computations (e.g., machinery, fluid capacities)
  • Willingness to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to work on feet and move throughout the facility for 12-hour shifts
  • Willingness to work in temperatures ranging from -10°F to 110°F occasionally
  • Willingness to complete all required training for the job
  • Ability to become HAZMAT certified and maintain qualification (including passing HAZMAT physical, pulmonary function test, and OSHA Respirator Medical Evaluation Questionnaire)
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain refrigeration systems while ensuring a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electric pallet moving equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial refrigeration systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building and grounds
  • Perform preventive maintenance on batteries, battery chargers, battery racks, and carts as needed
  • Train in Hazmat and safety procedures and become respirator certified
  • Other duties as assigned
