Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within the real estate industry, and demonstrate proven expertise in AppFolio software. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, along with strong skills in QuickBooks and Excel, and a solid understanding of real estate accounting principles and GAAP. Familiarity with U.S. property management practices and trust account reconciliation is also preferred.
The Real Estate Bookkeeper will maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties using AppFolio, process accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile bank, trust, and credit card accounts monthly. Responsibilities include preparing owner statements and financial reports, monitoring tenant ledgers and security deposits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, collaborating with property managers, and assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and tax documentation.
