Requirements

  • Degree/Master in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proven experience in product development life cycle
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design
  • Proficient in 3D CAD modeling, preferably Solidworks and Pro-Engineer
  • Crafting/designing casting, machining, plastics molding, and sheet-metal parts with good DFM practices
  • Basic to advanced geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Completed at least one product life cycle design
  • Project management
  • Good knowledge in mechanism design (preferred)
  • Experience in CFD/FLOW simulation in analyzing flow/thermal characteristic (preferred)
  • Proficient in mechanical design in medical or life sciences product development in R&D environment (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Engineer II will be the mechanical team member in an assigned project and assist the mechanical lead in handling and adhering to project timeline
  • Generate/provide conceptual proposal in supporting mechanical design review
  • Establish modular design and full product bill of material structure
  • Build and create sub-assembly test plan and report if any
  • Ensure design fully integrated into mechanical architecture with adaptability to design robustness
  • Provide design improvement if necessary
  • Work with vendors on design for manufacturability and supplier/vendor on cost negotiation to achieve product Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
  • Good understanding of design to cost target on mechanical architecture
  • Contribute to technology and innovation into R&D portal
  • Support and assign to technology development if any
