Requirements

  • Integrity, good interpersonal communication skills, strong sense of responsibility, and teamwork spirit
  • Technical school or higher education, preferably in mechanical or electrical major
  • Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and related measurement methods
  • Skilled in operating common precision measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, air gauges, etc
  • Knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM/PMM)
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 or TS16949 standards, and ability to use basic quality control methods like SPC
  • Basic computer operation skills, including MS Office software
  • At least 3 years of working experience in inspection or quality control fields
  • Strong quality awareness and high sense of responsibility

Responsibilities

  • Inspect a wide variety of purchased or manufactured parts, fabrications, and sub-assemblies prior to release to the next process, Parts Department, assembly lines, or processing locations
  • Follow standard procedures or detailed instructions to check the quality of materials against Caterpillar specifications and quality standards
  • Set up and operate layout fixtures to check and equalize machining stock, align targets, scribe lines, and machine locator pads on production materials
  • Complete other tasks assigned by the supervisor
