Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license Class B issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required
  • No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past three years, no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift
  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift)
  • No commercial or professional driving experience required; one year of multi-stop delivery experience preferred or six months local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
  • Hand cart delivery experience preferred
  • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language (able to hold a conversation, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, enter information on reports and records)
  • Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Must pass pre-employment testing (including Background Check)
  • Knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities
  • Use safe lifting and loading techniques
  • Great interpersonal/customer service skills
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
