Requirements

Candidates should have at least 3 years of professional experience in product design, with a focus on native mobile applications for iOS and Android. Proficiency in Figma, including its library features like components, tokens, and variables, is required, as is familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards. The ideal candidate will be a strong design and systems thinker, a sharp visual designer, comfortable with iterative work, detail-oriented, an enthusiastic collaborator, data-driven, motivated, and perpetually curious.

Responsibilities

The Product Designer will be responsible for design ideation and delivery for a User Engagement pod, working closely with engineering, product management, quality assurance, and program management teams. Key responsibilities include upleveling the design language by defining and evolving visual and interaction patterns for the mobile experience. They will also scale design through systems by expanding and maintaining a component library and documentation, craft world-class mobile experiences by delivering intuitive and impactful native app features, and design with empathy by understanding user needs. The role involves leveraging research and data to inform design decisions and contributing to the evolution of the Nerdwallet App experience and design language.
