Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
  • Strong foundation in MS SQL
  • Graduate degree in any technology area or another quantitative field
  • Experience with Snowflake (differentiator)
  • Experience with data visualization tools within Snowflake – Snowsight, PowerBI (differentiator)
  • AWS knowledge and Amazon Redshift (nice to have)
  • Object-oriented/object function scripting language experience: Python, Julia, Java, C++, Scala, etc. (differentiator)

Responsibilities

  • Building data pipelines into Snowflake from mySQL databases
  • Assemble large, complex data sets and assisting in cloud migration and technology innovation projects
  • Identify, design and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimising data delivery, re-designing infrastructure and data models for greater scalability, etc
  • Maintain the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL or Python
  • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and technology teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Create data structures for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing the product into an innovative industry leader
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in the data system
