Requirements

Candidates should possess at least 4 years of experience in privacy/data protection law, with a legal or compliance background, and experience at a tech or digital consumer-facing company. A deep understanding of global privacy regimes such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and FTC privacy regulations is required, along with preferred certifications like CIPP/E or CIPP/US. Experience with digital health, wellness tech, or app-based businesses is considered a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

The Privacy Counsel will serve as a subject matter expert on global privacy laws, providing practical guidance to product, marketing, and analytics teams, and will own and evolve privacy-by-design reviews for new products and initiatives. They will develop and maintain internal privacy resources, collaborate with security and engineering on data governance, and oversee Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) at scale. Additionally, the Privacy Counsel will manage vendor privacy compliance, conduct privacy impact assessments, track regulatory developments, and partner cross-functionally to support compliant ad tech and international data transfers.
