Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Deep expertise in embedded systems hardware design
  • Experience defining system architecture for ruggedized IoT devices integrating CAN/J1939, GNSS, IMU, cameras, and automotive-grade sensors
  • Experience overseeing embedded Linux and STM32 microcontroller firmware development, including device drivers, communication protocols, and OTA update strategy
  • Proficiency in hardware design reviews, component selection, and qualification for automotive and heavy-duty environments (9-32V, IP-rated enclosures)
  • Knowledge of security and compliance for edge-to-cloud data flows (VPN, TLS, SOC2)
  • Ability to architect and design ECAD and MCAD solutions
  • Experience designing multilayer PCBs with high-speed digital, analog, and RF components (e.g., LTE, GNSS, Ethernet, CAN, USB)
  • Skills in validating designs through schematic review, layout verification, and lab bring-up
  • Ability to design and support custom test fixtures for board-level and system-level validation
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical direction and mentor a team of engineers across hardware, firmware, and test disciplines, including performance coaching and career development
  • Drive the full product lifecycle: requirements definition, design, prototyping, validation, and production release
  • Coordinate with cloud, field engineering, AI/vision, and product management teams to align device capabilities with business goals
  • Establish and enforce engineering best practices for documentation, code quality, and design for manufacturability
  • Serve as the primary technical interface for internal stakeholders, external vendors, and strategic partners
  • Present design trade-offs, risk assessments, and project status to executive leadership
  • Collaborate with mechanical and industrial product teams to ensure environmental robustness (IP67+, vibration, thermal)
  • Design and build solutions in conjunction with predetermined requirements analysis, challenging potential gaps
