You will have overall design authority for a group of approximately 20 engineers, including 4 machine learning engineers.
Essential skills include strong proficiency in Python and PyTorch for machine learning, up-to-date knowledge of modern ML image models like vision transformers and diffusion models, solid understanding of image analysis for noisy data, strong coding skills with version control, and experience in quality management systems.
The role is based at the Cardiff site, which is a European Centre of Excellence for AI ultrasound development.

A PhD or equivalent in a technical discipline, significant experience applying machine learning to complex problems in commercial and regulated settings, excellent interpersonal skills, and demonstrated mentoring ability are key.
