Candidates should possess 15+ years of enterprise database engineering experience, with at least 6 years focused on cloud-native architecture. Proven expertise in cross-platform database migrations, such as Oracle and SQL Server to AWS RDS MySQL/PostgreSQL, is essential. A strong background in multi-cloud platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, OCI Autonomous DB), DevOps automation, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Python), performance optimization, observability tools, and high-availability design is required. Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and data compliance frameworks (PCI, GDPR) is also necessary. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is expected.
This role involves leading global teams in design and architecture discussions with partners, developers, and platform engineers. Responsibilities include architecting enterprise-grade, multi-region cloud-native database solutions and leading cloud migration efforts. The position requires managing globally distributed data platforms with high resilience and enterprise standards, deploying with Terraform automation and CI/CD integration, and collaborating with teams to align database strategy with company goals. Ensuring compliance with data governance, security standards, and audit readiness is crucial, as is overseeing application planning, architecture, performance tuning, and capacity management. The role also includes mentoring engineering teams, contributing to enterprise data modeling and governance, and documenting architecture and processes.
