Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience
  • Experience with all phases of mixed-signal board design including architecture, circuit design, schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout, and design verification (preferred)
  • Strong electrical signals and systems fundamentals including frequency domain representations and circuit analysis (preferred)
  • Experience with OrCAD schematic capture and PCB layout tools (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience using lab test equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic and network analyzers) for system integration, debugging and testing (preferred)
  • Experience designing, testing, and implementing high-voltage systems (~5 kV) (preferred)
  • Experience in designing and testing medical equipment within a regulated industry and familiarity with 60601-1 safety standard (preferred)
  • Ability to work in an agile development environment (preferred)
  • Interest in gaining an understanding of cardiac electrophysiology (preferred)
  • Interest in new technologies, coupled with the ability to quickly learn and apply new tools and techniques as needed (preferred)
  • Focus on accuracy and precision in technical tasks, which is crucial for quality and reliability (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of mixed-signal electrical systems and circuits for medical devices, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory standards (e.g., IEC 60601)
  • Develop detailed specifications, schematics, and PCB layouts, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to meet design and performance requirements
  • Ensure reliability, develop technical specifications for design and production, and test hardware conformance to specifications; may include designing new or modifying existing products
  • Contribute to technical project planning, establish timelines, define deliverables, and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
