Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Statistics and have at least 7 years of experience in Biostatistics. Proficiency in SAS Programming is required, with basic to good skills in R Programming. A very good understanding of a broad range of statistical methodologies and ICH E9 Statistical Principles for Clinical Trials is essential, along with very good English communication skills. Familiarity with MS Office Suite is also needed, alongside professional attributes such as trustworthiness, quality focus, a personable attitude, willingness to learn, and effective stress management.
The Principal Biostatistician is responsible for project delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met, and maintaining effective communication with clients and internal teams. Key duties include preparing and reviewing Statistical Analysis Plans, writing statistical methodology and results sections for reports, providing statistical input for protocols and case report forms, and conducting statistical reviews of clinical trial data. The role also involves performing sample size calculations, supporting Data Monitoring Committees (DMC/DSMB), writing blind review plans and reports, and preparing and delivering training on statistical principles. Additionally, the Principal Biostatistician will write and review statistical components of scientific articles, create SAS and/or R programs for dataset and TLF validation, manage technical client communications, mentor junior biostatisticians, and support quality assurance and budget reviews.
