Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electronic engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant experience with multiple tape-outs in deep submicron process nodes
  • In-depth, extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in physical design flow and relevant EDA tools
  • In-depth, extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in physical design signoff flow (STA, LEC, ERC, DRC)
  • Hands-on expertise with scripting languages such as Perl, TCL, Python
  • Knowledge of hardware description languages VHDL and Verilog
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and guiding their development
  • Strong initiative, analytical/problem-solving skills, team-working skills, multitasking ability, and ability to work in a diverse team environment
  • Preferred: Experience in physical design with multiple clock domains, clock and power management
  • Preferred: Experience in low power design, tools, methodologies, and Power intent UPF specifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical design implementation of custom IP and SoC designs from RTL to GDS to create a manufacturing-ready design database
  • Conduct all aspects of physical design flow: synthesis, place and route, clock tree synthesis, floor planning, static timing analysis, power/clock distribution, reliability, power and noise analysis
  • Conduct verification and signoff: formal equivalence verification, static timing analysis, reliability verification, static/dynamic power integrity, layout verification, electrical rule checking, structural design checking
  • Analyze results and make recommendations to fix violations for current and future product architecture
  • Optimize design to improve product-level parameters such as power, frequency, and area
  • Participate in development and improvement of physical design methodologies and flow automation
