Requirements

  • Skills in monitoring and resolving prescription fulfillment issues, such as processing third-party insurance claims, rescanning images, alerting patients to stock issues/partial fills/physician authorizations, and identifying pharmacist-needed actions
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal laws and corporate policies for providing pharmacy products/services, assisting in prescription fulfillment, processing insurance claims/rejections, and handling documentation
  • Capability to provide patient/member service, including acknowledging members, identifying needs, initiating fulfillment at drop-off, promoting products, resolving issues, assisting with purchases, locating OTC merchandise, and maintaining safe environment
  • Proficiency in entering prescription data into pharmacy software, including reading prescriptions, translating to system codes, transcribing data (e.g., date, drug name, strength, sig, refills, physician details, DEA number), and creating/modifying patient records
  • Experience in filling prescriptions by retrieving orders, counting/pouring/measuring/weighing medications, mixing/reconstituting, selecting/filling/labeling containers, and using scanning/automated systems for accuracy
  • Ability to assist at pickup by verifying/entering patient info into TaSCO, marking prescriptions, retrieving from will-call, scanning tags, gathering signatures (HIPAA/third-party), and logging restricted items
  • Competence in completing work assignments using policies/data/resources, collaborating with others, prioritizing tasks, communicating progress, recommending improvements, and adapting to change/feedback
  • Compliance with company policies, procedures, ethics, integrity standards, action plans, and Open Door Policy

Responsibilities

  • Process member purchases by operating cash registers and handling payment types
  • Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking/rotating supplies, removing damaged/out-of-date goods, setting up/cleaning/organizing displays, signing/pricing merchandise, and securing fragile/high-shrink items
  • Maintain pharmacy area per policies by handling claims/returns, using equipment for merchandising (pricing, signs, verifying on-hands, arranging supplies), identifying shrink/damages, ensuring safety, and completing paperwork/logs
  • Monitor/resolve prescription fulfillment problems by processing insurance claims, rescanning images, alerting patients to issues (out-of-stock, partial fills, authorizations), and escalating to pharmacist
  • Promote pharmacy reputation and provide services per laws/policies by assisting pharmacist in fulfillment, processing claims/rejections, helping with orders/purchases, and managing documentation
  • Provide patient/member service by acknowledging members, identifying needs, initiating fulfillment at drop-off, creating orders, promoting products/services, resolving issues, assisting purchases, locating OTC items, and ensuring safe environment
